Honey! I'm Home

Hi all. Sorry I haven't been around much. I try to read everyone's blog's but when time is short. Anyway, I've been trying to think of something interesting to blog about but not much is going on. There is one thing that keeps coming back to me. But since I'm not the writer type I hesitate to start it. But some young friend of mine said I should blog what I feel and be happy so here it goes..

I think it was around 1990 or so there was a whole bunch of sigthings of the Virgin Mary all over the world. One of them happened to be here in California not far from Sacramento. At the insistence of a friend who was very religious you just wanted to slap her I decided to go see for myself. I decided to spend the night in the parking lot so I would be the first one in and get a good seat. It was really cold then December or January I think. But being the rugged outdoorsman I am I was bundled up like a newborn babe. Around 10pm some guy came around. He was just looking around then came up to talk with me. He didn't look like a threat. Kind of medium frame not to street wise looking so I didn't have to do any posturing. Anyway he went on an on about religion and how he thought it was a hoax. All the while he kept saying I should stay at his place so I wouldn't have to sleep outside. Normally I would've thought he was coming on to me but something didn't seem right. After I started to get firmer in my "No Thank You" he said lets look inside the church and see if there was anything going on. I said "it's late and the doors are locked." Then He said something that has stuck with me for years. " He we have faith the doors will be open" then he made that gesture like a faith healer, ya know head back, eyes closed and then he pulled the door handles. Like I said they were locked. After that he made one last attempt to get me to leave. Then He was gone.
In the morning the people started gathering and then the doors opened. After a certain amount of praying (like Catholics do) the apparition appeared. At first I was skeptical. I checked the direction of the sunshine and the position of the stain glass windows. Unless someone had hidden projectors and a mission impossible theme song it had to be real. When it was gone folks were talking and some said the saw the Holy Mother in detail. Others said they didn't. What I saw was Beautiful to say the least but I could not make out a face. Just a distinct shape of a woman's upper body and facial outline. I"m not the religious type but something that day happened to me. My point of view changed and I became more of a believer than an indoctrinated catholic.
I have had lot's of encounters with the supernatural and now the spiritual. My mother in her last years became obsessed with such things. Since then my whole family (those of us that lived in the house with her) have had more than our share of these types of encounters. Is it possible that mom inadvertently opened something or passed something on to us by accident? I hope I'm wrong. I hope all that has happened and all I've seen is just part of life. (Or death)

We believe what we are meant to. Some things like this make some people wonder, and other people fanatical.

I'm just glad you didn't go with that guy!

Great story, lowk. I think spirituality is more important than religion any day (dare I say that with Labboy skulking about? LOL).

I'm glad you saw something that touched you. Even if it was a "hoax", it doesn't matter as long as it had an effect on you.

You write well, my friend.

Thanks. Now if I can only figuer out why I was suppose to see it and what I'm suppose to get from it.

There is nothing wrong in the seeking...When you get FANATICAL it tends to turn people off or you go start a Holy War or something. Holy War isn't that an oximoron? My experience has all been mostly moving and pleasant. My encounter with the Blessed Mother was the smell of Roses but like a wave hitting you. I actually called a female friend (Joyce)to come over to me while it was happening and it happened to her too. Most beautiful smell and so powerful. I had not told her what to expect or anything. No visuals but I have seen pictures. A friend of mine (Ron)had his Rosary turn to gold. He was a skeptic and still wonders how that happened..My spiritual encounters continue to this day but I have a unique one...Ever had your butt chewed out by God? Not something I recommend...had to do with my unforgiveness of someone. Result was no fun..Locutions, Apparitions, Visions are happening all over the world...If you have an interest in that stuff I'll share what I know or have experienced first hand..PS When I went to the church the doors opened....

That is a cool story. I wonder what the strange guy really wanted? I have never experienced anything like this, but I have heard so many from credible people such as yourself, that I am a believer.
